COMMENTS:

This is the second year for the Comal ISD Tournament. There weren’t many spectators to watch the Thursday games at Smithson Valley High School. On the other hand, the Comal Independent School District is charging each spectator an outrageous FIFTEEN DOLLARS for a tournament pass, so they really don’t need many folks in the stands.

GAME 1. The Eagles were paired with the Reagan Rattlers, a perennial San Antonio powerhouse. Akins bats were quiet. Rene Castro recorded the sole Eagles’ hit of the game. It was a 3rd inning triple, but Castro was stranded. Akins gloves were leaky; the Eagles committed 4 defensive errors in 4 defensive innings. Eagle pitcher Daniel Lopez issued 1 strikeout and 1 base on balls, and gave up 9 base hits.
