Outcome

Akins 6, Lubbock 11 The Eagles lost to Lubbock in the initial game of the rain-shortened tournament on Friday. Opening on the mound for Akins was Airrik Martinez, who took the loss. Richard Rogalewski came on in third inning relief. The Eagles were held to only three hits, but one of those was a fifth inning 2-run homer by Martinez off Lubbock relief pitcher Aaron Ansky.

Akins 11, Midway 6 Consigned to the tournament losers' bracket, Akins came back on Saturday to beat Tuloso Midway by the familiar score of 11-6. The Eagles offense rang up 12 hits, and those included back-to-back first inning home runs by Airrik Martinez and Charles Morton. Morton pitched all 5 innings of the time-shortened game and was the winning pitcher.

Akins 8, Floresville 8 Akins faced Floresville in the Saturday nightcap to decide the tournament's consolation bracket. With the score tied at the end of regulation play and the tournament championship yet to be played (on the same field), extra innings were not considered. A winner was decided by counting the number of each team's base runners who had reached third base. Akins had 10; Floresville had 12 and was awarded the game. Pitcher Marcus Flores went the 7-inning distance for Akins and was assigned the loss.
