As the ball crosses the base path in front of him, Martinez sprints to 3rd on Fabian's 2nd-inning RBI single.

Here's a rare sight. No, not the passing train; it's Charles Morton, running his own bases. Although he leads the Eagles in on-base percentage, a courtesy runner almost always takes over for him once he's there.

Still sporting a shiner and stitches from an incident at the plate less than 48 hours earlier at this very field, Morton gets ready on deck.

The pickoff throw from Rangel to Morton is on target, but Crockett's Michael Gomez gets back to the bag first.

     The Eagles got off to an early lead in this tournament game, and it was a good thing. Up by a score of 10-3 at one point, the boys in Navy Blue and Old Gold almost let Crockett steal this one.

         Eagle bats combined for 12 hits in just 5 innings of plate appearances in the tournament-shortened game. Charles Morton had 4 hits (and 4 RBIs), Daniel Fabian had 3 hits (and 2 RBIs), and Jason Rangel had 2 hits. Matt Hohertz, Airrik Martinez and Daniel Leal each had 1 base hit. Richard Rogalewski had an RBI on a sacrifice fly.

         Rogalewski got the win, and Rangel is credited with a save.
