Brandon Stewart bats. There's always construction going on at the Canyon field. This time it was a guy on a ladder, arc welding just beyond the 3rd base foul line.

Among the Eagle Faithful...

The game with Del Valle was the second part of a double header for the Eagles Varsity in a 3-way that included the host Canyon Cougars. As Saturday morning became Saturday afternoon, the drizzle never really stopped. It would just pause for a few moments before returning.

The Eagles only gave up 4 hits to the Cardinals, but all of those came in the disastrous 6-run first inning. After

that first inning, Eagle pitchers faced only one batter more than the absolute minimum. Starter Martin Salinas recorded 6 strikeouts in 3 innings, and reliever Jason Rangel threw 4 K's in his 2 innings.

The Eagles scattered 4 hits of their own throughout the 5 innings of the time limited game, but it was not enough. The final score was Del Valle 7, Akins 3.
