W. Charles Akins High School is the newest high school in the Austin Independent School District (AISD).
We are located at 10701 South First Street. You can find us in far south Travis County, Texas, between South First Street and Old San Antonio Road, a quarter mile north of FM 1626 and a half mile west of Interstate Highway 35.

Austin Area Baseball Coaches Association All-Star game
includes Eagles coach, 3 outstanding Eagles players!

Three Eagles Seniors and the team’s head coach were chosen to participate in the 2017 AABCA All-Star game on Sunday, June 11, at Dell Diamond. The annual contest divides the area’s outstanding players into teams from the North and South. Eagles Jason Porter, Nate Flores, and Adam Gutierrez were named to the South team. Eagles Head Coach Gene Salazar has been selected as a coach of the South team. Congratulations to these worthy Eagle All-Stars!!!

Honors for Eagles just keep coming!
Wilson recognized as Newcomer of the Year.
Members of the Sports staff of the Austin American-Statesman have selected Eagles sophomore 1st baseman David Wilson to their All-Central Texas high school baseball team for 2017, and they have named him as their Newcomer of the Year. The honor was published June 30, 2017, and was accompanied by a copyrighted feature article about Wilson that noted accomplishments of the entire Akins baseball program.
